What is Reformed University Ministries? Serving campuses through: Reformed University Fellowship & Reformed University Fellowship International Philosophy of Ministry Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) seeks to communicate the gospel of Christ by sending ordained PCA ministers to serve on the college campus, to build Christ’s church and to equip students to live all of life under the Lordship of Christ.
Goals Growth in Grace - RUF aims to help students understand and use the means of grace which God has provided for Christian growth. This includes studying the Bible, developing a prayer life, understanding worship, and dependence on the Holy Spirit to die to sin and grow in righteousness. Evangelism and Missions - RUF proclaims the good news of Jesus Christ to the university community with the hope of reaching the world. Fellowship and Service - Because Christians are united to Christ, they are also united to other believers. As Christians learn to participate by using their gifts and strengths, the body of Christ is built up. Biblical World and Life View - Christianity is a way of seeing all of life. The ministry goes to the campus viewing life through God’s written Word. Role of the Church The university is a marketplace of ideas; great value is placed upon the wisdom, philosophies, and traditions of men. These concepts are taught without reference to absolute truth of Scripture. The church’s responsibility is to teach the message of the one true God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Because today’s colleges and universities are filled with students from around the globe, it presents one of the greatest opportunities in fulfilling Christ’s command to teach all nations. | | | Rev. and Mrs. Chris Daniel (Genevieve) RUF @ Virginia Commonwealth University | |
