Greetings in the name of Christ Jesus! It is my honor to be the Senior Pastor of WEPC and to serve the Lord by leading this congregation in Word & Sacrament. My desire is to be God-honoring, Christ-exalting, and Spirit-empowered every day and in every way.
Our congregation is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America, and we are committed to the Scriptures, the Great Commission and the Reformed Faith. It is our vision that we would be a community of authentic and loving Christians. If you are a Christian I want to invite you to consider being part of the Church here at WEPC. If you are not a Christian, then I would invite you to consider the claims of Christianity. If you would like to find out more information about how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or how to become part of this Church, then please contact me. Grace & Peace, Rev. Dr. Kevin R. Collins Senior Pastor Email:

Kevin R. Collins 2003 - Present After graduating the University of Tennessee (www.utk.edu) with a B.S. in Marketing in 1986, Kevin worked 11 years for a division of Sara Lee Corporation, Bryan Foods, Inc. in their Foodservice Division in sales. At the age of 33, God called Kevin to pursue full time ministry. Because Dr. R. C. Sproul (www.ligonier.org) had been such an influence in his life via his radio, tapes, books, and Tabletalk devotional, Kevin enrolled at Knox Theological Seminary (www.knoxseminary.org) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where Dr. Sproul was an adjunct professor. He graduated cum laude with a Master of Divinity degree in May 2000 and received the Systematic Theology and Apologetics Award for his outstanding work in those areas. Kevin accepted a call as Assistant Pastor/Church Planting Apprentice at Kirk o’ the Isles in Savannah, Georgia in order to serve under Dr. Michael A. Milton and was ordained into the ministry of Word and Sacrament of the Presbyterian Church in America (www.pcanet.org) in October 2000. In September of 2003, Rev. Collins accepted a call to become the Senior Pastor of West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, Virginia. In that capacity, he also serves as the Chancellor of West End Christian School (www.wecs-hopewell.com). God has gifted Rev. Collins with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and encourage others to follow Christ Jesus. He sets the example of striving for efficiency and effectiveness in ministry and life for God’s glory while building a team philosophy. The Lord has gifted him with excellent organizational skills in order to handle a church staff as well as a Christian school and their needs. But most importantly, God has gifted him in the area of communicating His Word through preaching and teaching. He consistently proclaims what the Scriptures teach, concerning God and how to apply them to our lives. Reverend Collins has a passion to teach people God’s Word so that they can understand it more deeply and joyfully embrace it as they apply it to their daily living. He especially enjoys training men to fulfill their vows as Elders and Deacons. In 2009, Rev. Collins has successfully defended his dissertation and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri (www.covenantseminary.com). His dissertation thesis was The Ruling Elder: Expectations, Equipping, Examining, and Evaluating. The prayer of Dr. Collins is that God would graciously grow our church into an authentic and loving community of passionate Christians who are having a Kingdom impact in Hopewell, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the United States of America and to the ends of the earth. “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things and to His name be praised.” Soli Deo Gloria! |
