Sunday Morning Worship 11:00 AMBeginnings of any story are important and John has a different approach to the beginning of the story that he wants the world to know. He states that his purpose is that we would believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (cf. 20:31). Where Mark begins with the gospel message and Matthew and Luke have their birth stories, John takes us back in his opening to the eternal purpose of God. John was an evangelist to culturally diverse people. He was not locked in on one audience but the multiple cultures that were around him. That is the same way it is to be with us. We cannot go back in time nor can we go forward. We have to bear witness to Jesus Christ in the here and now. John is concerned with presenting the evidence of who Jesus was and what He did. Therefore, the main theme of the theology presented is undoubtedly the presentation of the uniqueness of Jesus. He is the Messiah (Christ), and the very Son of God who came into the world to bear witness to the truth and to give His life so that people from all walks of life might be reconciled to God. The incarnation is the second greatest truth in the Bible. The greatest is that this God who became man could also love us enough to go to the cross and die in our place. Jesus is God; Jesus is the light for our darkness; Jesus is the life that will satisfy us completely! Pastor Collins is preaching a sermon series entitled "SO WE
BELIEVE."
Sunday Evening Worship 5:45 PMMaximize your celebration of the Lord’s Day by worshiping with us.
